Heather Bocek established Golden Leash Dog Treats, a family-owned pet food business in O’Fallon, Missouri. She is married with two children (aged 22 and 12), and she has two sweet fur babies, Hank and Daisy. Weighing 80 lbs., these puppies are a mix of breed of Rottweiler and Labrador.

She has been making dog treats for families and friends for more than 2 years. The concept was born then, but not put into fruition until now. Her education background is in nursing and organizational leadership.

Heather has always been very conscious of what goes into the mouths of her children, husband, and pets. Heather would tirelessly search for organic and good-quality treats for her animal companions. She’d always find a tiny hidden ingredient with the caption, all-natural flavoring, on the nutrition label.

She finally got so frustrated, so she put her money where her mouth is and started baking. Using 100% organic, human-grade, and locally sourced ingredients, she came up with many recipes my dogs loved. That is when Golden Leash Dog Treats was born!

Her parents owned a tea catering company in South Hampton, New York. She noticed that the farther along in time they got, the more clients wanted to have treats available for their pets. However, Heather’s family has always been very organic in their ingredients. They always use locally sourced and organic farmers’ and seasonal produce.

So, when they tried and catered to the pets in their clients’ lives, Heather found it hard to find first-class, inexpensive, and organic treats for dogs. That was enough to send her to the kitchen and start trying a ton of recipes. This was her more than 15 years ago. Now, she is finally at a point where she can put a full-time effort into making this work.

Heather puts love into her dog treats and into each of her customer’s hands. Making these dog treats is what she loves! She takes pride in serving organic, high-quality, human-grade treats that all pet owners can afford. This makes her soul sparkle!
